Kremson
Thats why I have said before that I wish they would hold off on worrying about any new content or maps etc an just focus on the issues and the stuff we testers report . Yes it may get a lil boring for the testers on the fun factor but then again it may not because all the testers will then see how much more an more the game gets smoother running . Then you can go ahead and add in the new content but makesure that is tested thoroughly for any bugs before updating the game (which they lack at ) . Everything has to have a structure to it otherwise it will just keep falling apart . My posts I make on this isn't so much as complaining or bashing the devs it is my way for a constructive debate so that maybe they will open their eyes an realize how they are going about things isnt working . You lose focus on what you are doing what your goal your vision is an how to execute it then well as the saying goes the cookie will start to crumble . And I do not want that for EFT I truly do want the game to make it for it to grow but i fear if the devs dont do something to change it and soon then the game we all love an want to have fully done will just be on our virtual game shelf to never be touched again . Thats not how making game works ... You NEED to add most of the content before doing most of the optimization. Most of this optimization will be done after the maps and most of the feature are in. Sorry dude, but this just shows that you have just a big mouth and no clue about game development. Now you can start typing your flaming reply with „you can start talking to me when you have 20 years experience in whatever“, but i dont care. I must admit that I myself have 0 experience in game development but one thing i know for sure: People creating new content are mainly graphic designers and people working on databases. You want those people to work on the netcode? Okay, lets prepare for even more issues which they will create.
Vodor
@Kremson In an ideal world you could hold off on additional content while the existing is perfected, but we don't live in one of those so the level designers, artists, sound engineers will carry on doing their thing and adding stuff at a different pace to the technical team who are working on bugs and other stuff. They would just be being paid to sit around doing nothing, no CEO wants to hear that's happening. You could argue that they can make the content but don't implement it until the tech team resolves the current issues, however you may just end up doubling up the work so it's better they have as much content and files, models, procedures as possible so they don't end up fixing the same bug multiple times. For example they may optimise a map one method, the design team change some textures, all of a sudden those optimisations they did were pointless. If they know a map change is coming might as well wait for it (thus several patches later) and then optimise it. The key part to it all is that it's all internally documented, and when bugs occur they have a clear idea of where they came from and hopefully how to avoid it again. After all a bug is an unwanted and unexpected side effect of whatever degree, you can't really plan for them because you don't know what will happen. Moving off topic a bit, we (the community) need to keep testing both specific parts to the game (gun glitches, map exploits, framerates) along with the fun factor of it (reporting cheats that ruin the gameplay) so BSG can focus on doing their part and resolving them. We just have to accept that not everything is easy to fix. 3 hours ago, Kremson said: Everything has to have a structure to it otherwise it will just keep falling apart . Without trying to cause friction or anything you have to remember that these are community forums, if you make a post even remotely sound dev bashing or complaining then the forum keyboard warriors will take it as such, regardless of what your actual intent is The above is half my view and half devils advocate, we're all human at the end of the end of the day. TheRevengist
I am also suffering from this issue. I haven't been able to play the game all day. I hope BSG fixes this soon. It crashed my pc twice.
