Do a Hard Reset on patch .9

We need to do a hard reset on patch .9 Wiping all skills and levels. To many players have exploited to get all their stats and levels to max. The patch should wipe everyone back to the start and hopefully the issues have been fixed to prevent people from exploit farming "certain locations" to get strength and endurance to 50. This is a huge problem and is really commonly seen on almost every livestream out there, you have level 20 players with all level 50 stats. The only way they  got those level 50 stats was by exploiting in a corner at the start.

 

Tell me what you think,  think they should do a soft wipe and keep everyones stats or do a hard reset and hopefully have fixed the glitches.

This is already the plan. The only thing being kept is traders reputation level.

This is the first time they have done a soft wipe which leads be to think there is a reason behind it. The last content patch was far bigger than 0.9, so I'm thinking 0.9 is a 'teaser' patch. Something to keep us chewing on while they work on a bigger content patch that will come not too long after 0.9 and with a full wipe.

My other guess is that they have not yet fixed the root cause of the duping/weapon exploiting. Doing this will require a complete re-code of the way the inventory is handled server side and will take a long time. These 'fixes' they've added as of late are band-aid fixes to get rid of most of the exploiters but a full wipe now without a full fix will mean we go a long time without another hard wipe, during which time no doubt a certain youtuber will release another method.

I highly doubt they would do another wipe after the upcoming one till the normal patch release cycle. If it was to keep us busy a little longer for another patch, we probably wouldnt be getting any type of reset.

I was just as confused as to why it's a soft wipe this time, so I'm only speculating but as an amateur dev, I have a hunch it's something to do with the fact that exploiting is so easy, that it's going to take a complete re-code to fully fix, so what's the point of a full wipe if the dedicated exploiters are going to get a huge head-start over everyone else right out the gate?

Your forum stats lead me to believe you've been playing EFT for as long as me, maybe longer so I'm sure you can agree that we have a different player-base than we did a year ago, so these kinds of things have to be handled differently the further we go into development.

Maybe they would like people having more access to certain item easier through the traders this upcoming patch cycle for testing purposes. I do wish they would explain their reasoning behind certain decisions instead of leaving us to speculate.
