Everyone seemed to get a kick out of the last video I posted in my latest topic here --->

So I thought I'd show you guys another one that happened yesterday, I know grenades are crap in EFT but this is just sad. So I'll just leave this here (as always should render in 2k after youtube does a few passes) --->

Shrapnel is totally dynamic, he could have been in the room where the cabinet is where he was safe from both the blast and shrapnel.

Honestly, the only thing I can imagine is the grenade was on the other side of the door and he was behind it.

Not saying it's right, just based on how the game works in its current state that's probably how he survived.

that's a small room with the only cover being a small wooden door which shouldn't save him from the concussion or the shrapnel

He could have hauled butt to the couch when he heard the nade.

It shouldn't. Unfortunately it does, as far as I know.

the grenade fell "behind" a small cover and did not reach him.

here is a professional high quality graphic of how the damage of the grenade would have worked

red area: damage

grenade.thumb.jpg.98e7a637d8cbcb50aef0687fd9cc6291.jpg

as you can see, there is some space in the room where he can stand without getting any damage. he is still disorientated after the grenade, so you should rush him while he is not able to see very good.

its like when the grenade falls under a bed, you can just jump on top of the bed and wont die. at least in tarkov :)

you can see the shards of the grenade got blocked by the bed. the same thing happened there. if your grenade gets inside a box or behind something, the whole damage gets absorbed by the object, even if its a book or a piece of paper. you still have the "flashbang" effect tho.

very high quality but a couch made of thin fabric stopping shrapnel... unless its made of kevlar I doubt that would stop it but sadly this is game logic atm

it has something to do with the damage system in tarkov

in other games you have different zones of the grenade. on top of it - 3 m away + 100% death. 3-5m 80% hp loss. 5-9m 60% hp loss ....

but tarkov has different body parts. so they just let the grenade spit out a lot of shrapnel. i think its cool when it flies around the map and hits next to you  a couple of seconds after you hear a grenade go off on the other side of the map.

is it unrealistic? yes, but it doesnt happen that often. in my 2500 raids i think i saw it like 3 times. so no big deal.

right now they should work on:

- bullets sometimes dont do damage

- helmets dont render and dont count as armor

- armor bug in general

- hackers, glitches, dupes ....

.

.

.

and at the end they could think about reworking the whole grenade damage system so that in 2500 raids i wont have 3 bad grenades where it didnt kill my opponent.
