How to add a user with short nickname to your friends list

Hey,

does anyone know how to add a user to the friends-list in game who has a short nickname like for example "abc"? You only get like 10 search results and only users who contain the characters like "abc" in their name are being shown but not just the guy named "abc". Putting the name in brackets doesn't work...

At the moment, you might be SOL.

 

I'd just ask him his level, and if he has EoD edition. That should somewhat narrow it down.

 

Or, just make your friend add you, instead!

I can't ask him, because he doesn't know I want to add him. The problem in general is, that only 10 results are being shown and if the nickname you are willing to add is not shown there is, as far as I can see, no possibility to add the user..?
