Progression System and Balancing

Hello, everyone.

This topic is intended to address the progression system and balancing of the game, due to the frustration of not having more enjoyment time playing the game the way it is currently. Apologies if somewhere in the forums there are already answers, though I haven't found any and strictly want to know a bit more.

I've been playing EFT (either solo or with friends) for a quite of time and had enough of action to understand more or less the hardcore aspect of it. Obviously I also follow the forums to learn better, but I guess it's not enough.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the progression system was tweaked so you earn less XP? In the past I remember that I've reached level 20+, whilst now after the last large update I barley reached level 10. In almost all sessions I find myself using minimal gear and look like a local farm boy wielding only a shotgun, against players with level 30+ looking like stormtroopers from Star Wars. Even when I have the upper hand and concealed well, I still get killed almost instantly, while the other better-equipped players are advancing on me with automatic fire and throwing countless flash bangs - the latter diverts to the balancing issue. It also frustrating me that to buy better equipment you need to be at least level 13 (depending on the trader).

I understand that EFT is about hardcore and all, and from many comments I read in this forums about addressing gameplay issues, most of them relate to "The game is meant to be hardcore... You supposed to survive like in real life... Get used to it... Blah... blah... blah...". Yeah, I get it, so don't even bother typing some asshole comments. I'm not bitching about the hardcore aspect, and I'm not trying to make this game look bad and stop playing it. I didn't buy the Edge of Darkness edition just to complain. I really like the game and waiting for it to evolve even bigger.

Bottom line, I want to understand this issues (or however you want to refer them), and to know if both of the topics are going changed somehow.

Thanks.

Hey, first of all:

I feel it like you. They nerved the amount of exp you get after the raid, and i have the same feeling as you. It is frustating to kill +20 scavs in a nighttime factory run just to get barely 10k exp. I can play only at the weekend, and in this time i play 4-5 hours tarkov. They should provide the same amount of exp like in the last patch, this was a good balance for everyone. And yes i know, all the high lvl player wanna kill me now because they grind hours and hours to reach the max lvl, but should not everyone be able to reach it? Where is the fun when almost everyone is running with low lvl gear and you have only 1 or 2 high lvl enemys on the battlefield?

I can tell you just to keep up man, try nightraids in the factory. Keep hiding in a good spot and listen if somebody is shooting. If you hear no gunfire for like 10 min, you can kill all the scavs, put their weapons in a big backpack and leave.

To be very honest, those are people with too much time on their hands. The game in its current state becomes very easy. You need to grind xp to become max trader (Inc player level) and if you know the loot spots cash is not an issue

I love tarkov but the playerbase is gettting split into fat neckbeards playing this game way too much and the rest just playing it regurally.

Thanks for the tip :)I guess night raids is the only option currently, even on other maps. While I will try it out, I really hope they do something about it. As mentioned - hardcore or not, EFT is still a game and should be act as a game in my opinion instead being the real-real life thing.

I agree with you and also think the same. Most of the high level players are the ones who really have more time to play the game and doing everything they can to earn more EXP and get to higher levels, thus buying better gear.

I believe there should be some kind of level balancing system so you won't necessarily play with higher level players that obviously will carry more advanced gear.

Even if you won't get to kill anyone, I still trying to relay on looting but it is still not enough and in most cases I earn about 2,300 EXP, which is about nothing...

If you want to level up, scavenge or kill and loot. I level up really fast this way.
Will leave my comment here so BSG knows that I disagree. Make the game harder!
