well i really tried to play and learn this game but the world and odds are stacked not in your favor a game based on looting killing and extraction. but as a new player never shown where to evac what the maps are how the play and basically just get one shot all day and night with or without armor makes it impossible to learn.

figured maybe join a group they can help ... joins a group to just get shot at on spawn... cool. good player-base game wont show you stuff people are all asses. youtube videos dont help cause u heres the extraction area doesn't do poo if i dont know how to get there from where im at. run around factory with nothing to try and learn it learn that basically without keys you just going to get one shot or camped.

Because we all were PRO from the get go.

Did you try to join a random group in the queue? In a game without any means of communication? Well, joke is on you.

If you are not willing to put in the time to learn "properly" by yourself, join a clan or community. Don't want to? Then no one can help you.

This game is made for groups, join a clan and try again.

This is a you problem, not a game problem.

its hard to start without a group and try to figure out everything... but its possible. Play/Die/Learn/Repeat!

If you want to play with someone, you can message me ingame, so we can run some maps with my team

The get gud mentally is great scare off all your new people then u have a limited playerbase and your just playing with other "pros" it's is a me problem cause there plenty of you having fun daily I'm just giving you a opinion of a player who doesnt have hundreds of hrs into the game and I'm not new to.pc shooters.

But it's obvious that the community likes there game and the can keep there game with themselves don't let any new players in sounds like a good strategy.

Hey and welcome to Tarkov.

First of all yes its hard in this Community, but you will find a way to deal with it. We all started like that.

I came from germany but if you want you can play some rounds with me if you want. I can give you a factory key ( it will open many doors for you ) abd i can show you some ways to survive the raids better.

But yes you need to learn the maps first. Play in pve mode abd watch on your phone youtube video where the extractions are. It will help you ALOT! Take your time to understand where its dangerous to run, learn the weapon mechanics and how to avoid hugh traffic zones. If you feel comfortable you can try to run without any gear in raids so you dont have to fear your gear looses. Learn where most of the people run, where they spawn and where the good loot is.

I havent met a single player not willing to help a new player since i play (early alpha). I really dont know what people you were meeting with but i can only assume u made 1-10 raids and tried looking for group function in the lobby which no wonder you get killed since you have no communication.
There is many topics in many languages in this forum where people post their discord or player names, willing to teach others. Especially now before the wipe, experienced players bring new players gear and everything, so they dont have to care about it.

It is normally enough to just open a topic, or better add a answer to an existing topic here and searching for a group with the description you need to learn as a beginner and you will get your help i am sure.

Besides this is still in development and things change a lot, so guides are until now made by community. There is some good guides on youtube.

I'm also a new player, 2 weeks or so. I had the same issues with finding extracts, my advice (what I do anyway) would be to download all the maps onto your phone or if you have a second monitor on there would be even better, a quick google search will find you very detailed maps with all Extracts marked.

Offline mode is a must to learn at this stage I've found because all the players are currently geared to the teeth due to the upcoming wipe, and you may not make it past 5-10 mins. After a few hours or a couple of days you will start to become more familiar with surrounding :)

I think stbadreturns was trying to focus on the topic of "how new players need to learn the game".

Basically, there is a bit truth in his words - as a new player, you supposed to get a tutorial, even a brief one, in order to understand what you are playing.

If one of EFT's points is to learn on the fly what to do, how do to it, and where to go, without anything holding your hand and simply take you to the "hardcore realism" part of the game, which supposed to imply that in real life you have to learn things alone, then for my opinion its a false move. This is still a game. If you want to learn how to survive, you can go to survival courses or just wait for the apocalypse or something.

There are some obvious things in the game, like how the personal inventory and trader system works, that you supposed to figure out in a matter of few minutes before starting your first raid. But later, why bother doing raids over and over with or without gear just to learn what the heck you're doing? So, yeah, currently all we do is go on a raid, find loot, maybe kill a bunch of guys and escape alive, all this to earn some EXP and advance in skills. There's still a lot ahead before EFT's crew will bring the full experience of the game.

I am a new player as well, started end of august but due to internet issues have not been able to play for a month :usad: .

I did manage though to reach level 15 with a 33% survival rate and I have only played solo. What helped the most was offline mode were I spent my first 2 weeks of gameplay cause I figured map knowledge is key(second monitor with map on helps a ton), also knowing where you just spawned and what other spawns are nearby is crucial, I spent many hours on each map just spawning in and trying to figure out exactly my location and as soon as I knew where I was I would leave and join again, this also helped learning where scavs spawn.

The result was when I decided to go play online I felt pretty confident as to where I am and which way to go, and the maps you can find online provide locations of extractions cause those can be a bit tricky to memorize at first.

I`m sorry, I know its hard when you dont know where to start. But BSG don`t change the game, no leveled machmaking or anything stupid please. I want challenges with higher leveled players than me!
