Game Freezes When You Get Hit

Am I the only one? Almost every single time when I'm going to get hit, my entire game freezes for a second while the game calculates the damage. This sh** is pissing me the fu** off. It's gotten me killed way too many times. I don't remember this ever happening before in the last patches.

I can confirm the game does seem to pause, lag, "freeze" temporarily during random events for me as well, getting hit is definitely one event it happens on but also not the only event where it happens either.  It is a new issue with the 10.5 patch for sure.

Exactly the same for me, i made a topic about it, it seems the stutters are back with a vengeance this patch, and my machine is pretty high end so it is not performance related lag.

seeing how many of us have this issue, maybe BSG can express a patch or at the least look into it.

It happens very randomly.

Same here 5820K, 16GB DDR4, GTX 1080. And I have tried all there is to fix the lagspikes. (Win 10 reinstall, EFT Reinstall, Fresh drivers, Network monitor and opt.. and so on) I think it has something to do with memory handling of assets in the game. Read a bunch of guidlines for memory handling in Unity3D and it could be related to Garbage Collection or a combo of that and bad performance for CPU's with hyperthreading. But hey, its not my game and im not the dev :) I'm sure they know how to fix it but its probably not that easy to fix.

Sorry for the wall reply, but this is very relevant and took me a long time to "Fix"

Hope this gets read by all those whom experience this as I have also posted this solution in my thread@

Last night I too tried every guide out there, from the nvidia settings adjustments to graphics driver changes to the stupid nvidia experience adjustments (also the tarkov.exe dpi thing which did nothing).

BUT,  (and it is a relatively easy adjustment to the game which does not involve any s complicated game adjustments):

Success, and this may not work for every one, so i play in 4k, every game runs amazing with the 1080ti no matter the spec of the game* and found this strange thing that the GPU seems to do, it seems on average that it kind of lies to you about the fps you are getting, which also leads me to believe that the latest drivers make this even worse. It seems to give you the 75-100+ fps tick but what it doesn't tell you is that in a total second of this draw the card may drop down to 30fps or less for 0.5 or worse seconds, this gives you the stutter, and the lower the drop the more noticeable it gets.

To cut a long story and many hours of testing short it was quite simple, having everything on AND in windowed border-less mode**** I have now reached the 10.2-3 levels of stutter, it is no way fixed (and I don't think it will ever be as its game related) but it is significantly reduced to the level of almost not noticing, and it doesn't seem to stutter when you get into combat which was my main bugbear.

In short try this:

Turn off full screen mode in game, and go to the settings in the launcher and activate border-less mode

Object LOD=3.5 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<You can put this even lower, I never did as the micro stutter was almost un noticeable at this level

Object visibility=2500. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<You can put this even lower, I never did as the micro stutter was almost un noticeable at this level

Shadow visibility=whatever you want, but don't put on max, i personally put this on low and kept it there as I didn't really see the difference**

All the middle options off***

May not be ideal for some of you out there, but i would much rather have a locked 60fps game with extremely reduced micro stutter+, than an open high number that drops to unbearable stutters during game play, stutters are dramatically improved and no longer trigger at very unforgivable circumstances. I had a few fantastic rounds after these adjustments, I really hope this helps a few of you out there even if its only one person that this helps, I have passed on this knowledge.

--Conditions--

*does not include alpha/beta/or any other iteration of an in development game.//**Playing mostly night raids as a preference//*** as recommended by everyone, although this now has little impact on FPS because its locked in window mode.//****this locks frames 60fps

+Micro stutters are now more in the 80-90% 60fps and the 10-20% drops, this is the best I got it and you hardly notice the stutters now.

Thanks for the feedback man! I did not feel any noticable difference for the big freezes part. Maybe a little smother when it comes to microstutters, but then again at a much lower fps so the game felt a little bit weird.

The search continues :D It might even be a Win 10 version vs Nvidia problem. But I doubt that..
