PVE Runs vs PVP

I don't have the time to dedicate to hour long sessions on EFT and am getting kicked in PVP. I love this game and am wondering if I should concentrate on PVE to level my PMC and do Scav runs to gain eqpt. I do realize that I wont be able to complete Trader tasks this way, but is it a viable plan to gain both map knowledge and game experience? Interested in opinions either way

Scav run experience will not count toward your PMC level, but it affords an opportunity to gain gear for your PMC to use. I generally use Scav runs to gather quest items, or warmup runs for the PMC.

As for gaining map knowledge, I highly recommend using the offline raid feature in order to explore. Keep in mind though that items and experience in offline mode will not be kept at the end of the raid.

Xp earned in scav runs does amount to total Xp earned. Soft skills (like strength) dont.

Scav run experience will not count toward your PMC level.

Meaning if you get 2000 exp on a Scav run, you will not be 2000 exp closer to the next level on your PMC. Your Scav has its own level/exp meter.

I started out like this way back in early alpha (going in naked or with just a pistol as scav runs wernt a thing), as my confidence grew i started to focus on tasks.

I too hate losing an expensive load out and spending a long time in raid but i find that spending some time on scav runs to get task stuff works really well, plus the free gear you get is a good way of playing.

Nothing offline counts, nor does scav xp in scav mode as their not connected to your pmc.

Just hang in there, the more familiar you come with the maps the better you will play as pmc. Fcus on one objective per raid and once you achieve it, just goto the exit.

I like to tell people to get comfortable with a few budget loadouts. I like tokarev, as it allows me to load in without even a chest rig of any kind. The same goes for the mosin, but recently the price has been going up on it, whole the performance remains the same or has become slightly worse.

Just hang in there! The only thing that stops me from rage quitting is knowing more wipes will come! Take this as an opportunity to get to know how brutal the end result will be, and try to enjoy the game kicking YOUR butt for once. :bewhink:
