sginga
Right now there seems to be three ways to make money on the flea market, other than the already obvious value it adds to items dealers think are worthless. 1. Scavenging for particular items and selling them on the flea market This is the most common and are usually what you see when items are put up for lower prices than others. compared to the other methods rather than putting money at risk you are risking the equipment to go into raid with. 2. Buying items low and selling high This method is both riskier monetarily and has much slower return, depending on the price you attempt to sell at. Typically, this can be the case when there is a large amount of one item for sale. This method also requires that the item has a relatively high demand, such as items used in quests or dealer trades. This is good for players who either don't have the time to play as much or are planning on taking a long break, but still look to make a profit. 3. Buying high tier items and selling at a premium Similar to the second method but requires a high level and progress through the quests to gain access to these items. This only lasts as long as there are enough people who don't have access, otherwise prices will be forced too low for this method to be worth the time and money invested. If i could suggest a few things: Its just a small thing, but the filter should start at one letter, not three I think that daily or weekly quests would provide some extra value to items and help prevent the loss in value quest items will experience as the player-base advances through the quests. I'm also curious if the flea market is subject to the region-lock as well, as I think the market should be global if it is not already. as for what they have planned as rewards for player trading reputation, beyond extra offer slots, limiting what you can sell or the amount of items possible in a single offer are some possibilities. perhaps they could list offers of the same price from highest to lowest reputation when filtered by price. I'm not sure if reduction to fees would be a good option but I'm interested in what others think too. Please reply with your own constructive criticism, I'm interested what people think about parts of the system, not just "i love it" or "I hate it"
middlefingerSKS
I like the market how it is except for the fast quest completions. I feel like that takes away from the game somewhat. The 1-letter searching I feel is not a small task for the server or the devs. It would require sending back a lot more data to you for just tiny searches and the game already chugs when it has to iterated huge dealer pages. Doesn't sound doable to me. Not a huge deal though. We will learn the three-letter combos quickly as we play, and can have more filtering helpers built into the market for things like that. I think the fees are good right now actually. Like I shouldn't be able to ask for millions of roubles without having to pay a bunch either. I dunno, seems fair to me so hatchlings with nothing aren't everywhere farming. Personally, I think the market will need some moderators from the BSG side of things. Someone to watch the market and make sure no one is blowing up the price of something due to some game spawning glitch or whatever. We will see. MovingTarget
I think there should be limits placed on selling items bought from the dealers, like if you buy up all the good ammo and sell it at 200% mark up the dealers charge the person whos doing that more for a while.
