Do teamkillers get penalties?

I am just starting out on Escape from Tarkov and I am having a lot of trouble finding one good match. Since I am a low level, it takes 10 minutes for someone to decide to group up with me. I get excited, but then someone teamkills when I spawn in. I am at a point where I can't enjoy the game because of this. Are there any penalties towards players who teamkill? Also, is it going to be easier to group up with people in the future?

Atm there is no such things. Later on there will be karma system where killing people from your fraction will bring some kind of penelties for you.

Since you are new i can recommend :
- Ask sherpa for help (check sherpa thread it's in this forum)
- Ask friend for help 
- Focus on 1 map first and learn it, how it looks, where are extracions, so you know where you need to go in order to survive
- Watch yt guides about maps
- use google in order to find right maps created by community i.e. "Customs map escape from tarkov" you should find some
- Play scav mode as much you can, keep in mind that while you are playing as scav, AI scavs are not targeting you, but player scavs can and once you kill scav/player scav other AI scavs will become hostile
- Use Tarkov wiki/youtube videos if you have problems with quests
- Play solo (if you can't ask friend for help)

Overall, EFT is hard at the start, once you know maps/mechanics you are ok. If i can help with more advices just quote me/use @ nick(with no space)

There exists an unofficial EFT discord server, people are always online and there are plenty of rooms full of people who are looking for a group.

I had the worst experience at level 5. I got in a group of 3 others with M4A1 with silencers, they had full armor and i had only a pistol. We looted alot in the Lab and killed 6-7 people. I got fully geared and was damn happy and we about to extract, i see the timer and had 2 seconds left for extract and all those guys open fire at me.........   Lost everything. They were max level as well.... i can understand someone doing this to someone equal maybe...but a low level without any gear..... damn thats low
