Wickedness
Well i have been slowly getting back into EFT again, since one of my friends got the game now. But i have recently 3 times in a row been loading of a hole 30 mag into someone from 5 feet to 15 feet away from me. Everytime they dont spot right away, but when they do, they take there time to look at me and aim and then i pretty much instant die. So was wondering if the Dev have massively nerfed all the low Tier/beginner weapons so much that you have to use 60 rounds to kill someone, even without body armor. I just died in a raid 10 min ago, to a person who had the green starter helm and no body armor on and shot him at least 20 times from the head to the chest. yet he stops up and looks at me and instantly kills me, while taking his time to look and aim at me. Any info or am i just hitting bad luck constantly in EFT. If bad luck i might have to put the game on hold until it is released. since i barely can get any gear our of a raid or even live 10 min in a raid before it happens. P.S. I do not hate the game in any way, i love the idea and the flow of the game. But this is just to weird and kinda de-motivating.
dustandflour
Also adding on to the above.. the servers have gone downhill with 0.11. Desync, instability, netcode issues. Just had a game where i shot a guy in the chest 2 times with a mosin from point blank range. even on the replay i can see him flinch and the bloodsplatter.. he killed me and it showed i had no hitcounts.. with a full auto rifle on a bad server it can be that half your shots don't even register. smokey-phil
It likely the ammo your using if its the prs stuff you can buy at the start from prapor (you buy better stuff off the flea market or loot it at the start looting it is much cheaper) that might explain some of it the ammo charts are around somewhere on the reddit you can look them up and find out the exact damage values (save the community made maps as images at the same time so you can look at them in an image viewer when your in a raid it helps alot more than the maps in game ) Also what you think of as a hit in another game might well be a miss in tarkov it takes a little while to relearn to aim with the bullet drop and 0 aim assist you, but don't worry to much if your not winning fights with the gear you have now go look up a couple of modding guides and put together a cheap ak or sks build (scav runs are great for either funding this or just finding the base guns and sticking some extras on it) get the best vest you can and a 2x1/4 1x1/4 rig and get out there and lose that stuff comtacs make it much easier to id sounds from further away so grab a pair of them as well as a helmet that allows you to wear them at the same time. Aside from that its just getting out there and learning what works and what doesn't streamers can help but don't spend to much time watching them as its easy to get de-motivated by going "but i'll never be able to beat kotton" (or whoever you pick) you won't be coming across people with that level of skill all that often there are quite a few people who just picked the game up right now after the sales and free accounts giveaway so your not alone in that go find some people on the official discord and get some of that sweet group action or just learn a little faster than the others and prey on them it is tarkov after all go exit camp or something. You can do it anyone can if they are willing to put the effort in, just try not to panic as that normally the start of the end.
northofnowhere
You should be able to get kills with an SKS and PS ammo just fine. I ran up to level 15 with one. It is a great entry level gun. Aim, then fire. If you fired an entire mag, I doubt you hit him more then once or twice before recoil won the battle. FPS, desync, server selection, they all also play a role. Find a crew to hang with who can help you understand the mechanics and choices you are making better.
BaconSniper
It's hard for everyone, especially beginners. If you stick with it you will be rewarded.
Straafe
Yea, a lot has changed. Armor has really changed the game, and I think made it worse in some ways, but better in some ways too. You are right, 100% of all beginner and mid game ammo is absolutely useless against the armor people wear now. What it funny is that for most of the beginner/mid tier ammo, even 60 rounds wouldn't be enough. You have to use flea market end game ammo that actually works or aim for the face/legs, there is no other option available to you when facing higher level/geared players period. The days of being able to use 7.62 PS with an SKS and be able to kill anyone remotely geared are over. Doesn't matter if you are more skilled or outplay them, as your experience also shows. If you aren't using the best ammo of any given type it is useless unless you hit their face or their legs. For example, for the following ammo types only ever use these: 5.45 - BS or the new Igolnick ammo 7.62 - BP 5.56 - M995 Don't even look at anything else unless you are aiming for legs/face. This is kinda true and at the same time not as bad as he makes out. Not everyone runs full gear all the time and even if you have the ammo that is just one part of it you'll also need protective gear and a whole bunch of game play knowledge and a gun to fire and if your up against someone running full maxed traders no holds bared geared-all-the-way you'll likely bite it unless you have the rest of it with you just having good ammo won't be enough if he can down you in 1-2 shots cause you have no vest on or he's running an automatic rifle and you have the single shot civy version or he has grenades and you don't so you end up having to assault him while half blind from the 5 flash-bangs he's carpet bombed the area with. Either way there is more to the puzzle that is tarkov than just the ammo but at the same time ammo is a key part of it you'll need to learn your way around if you are gonna do well. But assuming everyone is gonna have at least lvl 3 vests is not a bad idea kirsa is everywhere these days. Just try and avoid the low end ammos prs is a "never even once" tier right now but if you don't wanna pay someone 500 rb per shot from the flea market the 5.45 bt and bp ammo's work well enough and i've had good enough results the pp 5.45 rounds as well (though if you come across geared dudes you'll need to aim low to hit the legs or go for head-shots with it but as a cost effective starting point you could do worse) Best bet is to go watch antons testing videos for the current patch and decide based on what actually happens when you shoot x round at x vest or helmet and get ready to be shocked about what it can take to get though a fort
