How does this look like in 3 years?

Hello everyone,

how you can see on my topic, I would like to know how this game will be in about 3 years or longer. I can't see a true future for this game. In the end, only the good one will stay and the not that good people will leave. So why should there be a game with only about one thousend player or so. Right now, it is even pretty empty in some lobbys ingame.

What will this game make a "boom" on sale? To get new player.

What will keep people on playing? The account reset?

I never say that this game is bad. I am bad in this game. But nothing keeps me on it. So... what does other people keep on playing? And in the future?

There are two things that would keep me playing the same game for some time. One is content to explore and story (as in an MMORPG or a single player game). The other is skill progression and competitive play.

Right now the game has neither (for me - I don't consider fighting juggernauts impervious to bullets any close to skill rewarding or competitive), so if no direction is taken, it will be dead for me. At the moment I do a raid from time to time, just waiting for any of these aspects to be improved.

I feel like once they add more game modes then the game will potentially be funner. I also feel like there should be more cqc maps like factory. I also know that this isnt a game like COD or Battlefield or anything, but a game mode where you can have battles kind of like tdm with loadouts you choose(and not have to worry about finding/losing gear) would be fun and interesting with the mechanics and gun play this game has developed. This would probably go well with the open world they are planning aswell.  So in summary I believe more game modes would be the key. (Which I did see something about adding new game modes in the future)

This game isn't really going to have a story mode, but more of discoverable lore as you progress. There is plenty of lore in the quests, but you have to bother to read the quest descriptions. They have plenty of interest in giving the game a story to follow of some sort, as they said they want to add quests that will add to the story of Tarkov, such as the cultists and what not. 

As for people with armor, Nikita said on Reddit they don't intent on making helmets realistic. If they were to make them realistic, they would be dead content because the best helmet could only protect from really bad rifle rounds at the best. If that were the case, nobody would play helmets because they would be useless. Armor is intended to be made realistic with armor zones and the like, so you can kill someone wearing fort with HP 5.45 ammo or something like that.

I came to EFT because advertised as realistic shooter with story elements ("Story-driven scenario based walkthrough"). So far, we have a gear tier system with lore elements to discover (hidden in the description of stupid grind quests). I just don't like these elements, for the exact same reasons I didn't play the Division much for example. To be honest, I had hopes to see a STALKER-like game with Arma-3 gameplay :D

It's only a personal preference, really. Looking at EFT specifically (I won't list every type of game I like or dislike), I prefer skilled based FPS and/or story driven, and I dislike games that make you waste time grinding.

The game in itself is really good, no doubt about it. I'm still playing it for two reasons, because I can still get the thrill of the hunt and sometimes outplaying terminators while using low level gear (something that the pro-grind people want to take away, understandable), and also because some of my friends are still into it, and squad runs are fun. EFT has a lot of toys to play with but I don't give a flying duck, only three or four weapons of each type would still be fine for me, that is not what keeps me playing. The elements I like are being removed or watered down (e.g. bullet proof helmets).

I don't know what the game will be in three years, I guess it's a matter of catering to the type of players that are the most numerous. For me (and probably other people with the same mindset), it will be a thing of the past. I hope BSG is doing the right choices and getting the audience they want. I'm still happy to have helped the development with my financial contribution.

Well, most likely cause last update was almost 2 months ago and last wipe was like 4 months ago so ppl achived so far everything already and they wait for that.
But 11.5 patch with fixes will happen in next 1-2 weeks, then 11.7 after another 1/2 week which will bring new guns and then (no date yet) huge patch with hideout/map/guns etc. (0.12 patch). So if you play like within 1 month after that patch, then there will be a lot of ppl to play with.

I belive that this happened after christmas/new year, where they gave away +100k 14 days trails, so we could see a lot of new ppl on forum asking for help etc.
But um, to answer that question a little bit more, they most likely pay some streamers in "far" future (after release) to promote EFT so then u expect some kind of "boom". Now it's bug on bug and we test/report bugs :P

After Release there will be no accounts resets (i mean wipes, cause you will be still able to manually reset account tho).
What will keep people playing? And what keeps players at any other game? Hmm they simply like such game so thats why they play ;P.
Since EFT is/will be (for now at least) the only "such" rpg fps game with such details on guns, open map etc. out there. I mean now you could compare that to DayZ but pls, there is no real point of doing that :D.

In future as i said already, there will be even more guns/gear/maps (example. Arenas), open maps (current maps matched together to create 1/2 big one), more mechanics like hideout and whole "looting and getting gear" will be changed so actually it will be much harder to get such good gear comapred to now.

So all those features will keep players in EFT, unless they duck something up, because for now it's the only such game out there.

Battlestates will release a game called russia 2028 or something like that. And it will be based on EfT but more with a story. It will be released after EfT. That is what I heared. But how I said, we are in version 0.11 beta. And this game is in the beta pretty long. So it will take some time. BUT! The russia game will be based on this, so the release date won't take this long as here.

I'm just discovering all this Russia2028 thing and I do understand some concerns about how messy BSG can be if they do all of this at the same time...

I humbly say I don't really know how a studio works in details, but it seems that BSG is not well organized, communicates in every direction without any logic, abandoning things to maybe-if-probably do it later-in-the-same-time-before...

Damn' so far, EFT has something others games don't have. But BSG seems to don't have what a good studio should have...

Hello sir,

I have no idea where you found the information that we are working at the same time on both projects.

We are focused on Escape From Tarkov, Russia 2028 is a project that we are planning to develop after Escape From Tarkov release.

Why are you even on this forum? Or keep coming back on here? All I ever see you do is spread hate in every remotely negative topic or every topic that could be turned negative in your favor. If you can't stand the game that much, why do you even bother? Do you have nothing better to do?

After reading again my post, I see i t can be interpreted a little bit meanly, and that was not my intention.

My point of beginning was the gameplay video BSG released few years back to present Russia 2028. But then, it's actually EFT that is been developed...
So I think you see where I (and others) got confused. And why then some people keep sharing the idea that you guys work on different projects at the same time.

Once again, and it's not the first time I (and other) say that, your communication is very difficult to understand... Paper chase is funny at the beginning, but for every detail we have to dig deep and cross different sources to finally find the correct intel (!) It's already part of my job and I don't think it works well.

I would recommend one synthesis to concentrate all this intel. And I know some readers will start me with some "search in the forum", but it's now messy, too much things, too much trolls. A simple section on the website would clarify the officialism of the source (BSG) and ease the access to it.
