Launcher flashing "Checking Game" forever

I am unable to launch Escape from Tarkov. When I click "Play" on the launcher it flashes "Checking Game" forever

 

I've tried verifying the game files but that process jumps to 100% and it says "Calculating time" forever and never changes.

 

I've also noticed that the launcher is using absolutely no internet during these processes? Is that normal? Has anyone seen this issue and been able to resolve it? Thanks for any help

It checks for CRC checksum. 

You are not on ssd drives right?

Always. It just varies from user to user. You can call me in discord and screenshare and i can take a look at it.
