Sniper Rifle Problem

I'm doing one of the mosin sniper quests, and I need to get headshots from 80 or so meters away. I bought a mini-mosin and put one of the super long range scopes on it; whenever I shoot at a sniper scav on the mountain from across the map at the shore, the bullet appears to hit BEHIND him. This happens even after I make sure I'm correctly zeroed and that everything is rendering correctly. However, due to the fact that I see the bullets 'hit', I believe that I'm literally just too far away.

650m+ shots are doable so I can imagine it's not distance

Mini Mosin you say, do you mean the Obrez? If so anything further than 25m is probably not a good target 😂

There is a shorter barrel mosin.

I havent had problems hitting what i aim at with the mosin, i even saw deadlyslob on stream being able to snipe with the sawed off version from 100meters or so. Maybe aiming upwards like that may cause some inconsistencies.

I had it several times, that i shoot 10 Roundd of M80 to a AI Scavs chest. Only after he moved my game would sync his correct Position and i would finally 1 hit him. On Range i think it is sometimes just an desync thing. If i shoot silenced, the scav would sometimes not even react to bullets flying past him, until he moves once.

Above 200 meters you need a long barrel for sure.

I just wanted to clarify what mini Mosin meant, as it could mean anything from the infantry down to the Obrez

currently the mosin obrez doesnt' do damage at all for me playing as a scav on factory ...

this is the second time i noticed there's no bullet registration, even at 1 foot away doing 20headshots. Post game raid statistics 0 hit counts
